Abstract

Islam, revealed by Allah SWT, has instilled the fundamental essence of justice in the lives of the Muslim community. However, this is still not widely understood in society. Islamic law itself is derived from the teachings contained in the Qur'an, which serves as a reference for human life. From this, the author has created a scholarly work that explains the concept of just leadership according to the interpretations of Ibn Kathir and Al-Qurtubi through a comparative study. The aim is to provide knowledge about the concept of a just leader according to the interpretations of Ibn Kathir and Al-Qurtubi. This research employs a qualitative research method with a literature study approach. In this study, the researcher finds that Imam Al-Qurtubi's interpretation explains the concept of a just leader by highlighting several aspects that reflect the Islamic vision of governance and Imamate. Meanwhile, Imam Ibn Kathir, in his interpretation of the Qur'an, presents various views on the concept of a just leader and its characteristics.
